The New York Fast Pitch League was formed in late 1994 for the 1995 season. The original six teams, disenchanted with the existing leagues in Manhattan, started the NYFPL. The league operates as a modified fast pitch league, with all games on the Great Lawn, Central Park. We are now a 14 team league.

Annually, the league sponsors youth programs for children of New York City through the City of New York/Parks & Recreation. We are beginning our eighteenth year of sponsoring the youth programs. In past seasons, we worked closely with Parks & Recreation and raised $10,000 to support New York City’s youth. In addition, we make an annual contribution to the Central Park Conservancy for the support and maintenance of the softball fields within Central Park.
